Teeth Whitening in Uxbridge

Teeth whitening chartIf tarnished, dingy teeth leave you feeling too self-conscious to smile, brighten your pearly whites with our effective teeth whitening options. At Dentistry on Brock, we feature both in-chair and take-home whitening treatment.

Before we begin a whitening treatment, we would present all the different whitening options and discuss the process for each one. You will be informed about reasonable expectations, side effects, costs and precautions.

Get a Bright Smile in an Hour or Less

Perhaps you have an upcoming big event such as a wedding or an important job interview. With in-chair teeth whitening at our practice, you can get a gleaming smile during your lunch break. We use Opalescence Boost, a type of power bleaching that gets dazzling results.

In-chair whitening is also ideal if you want to achieve a whiter smile quickly without having to wait a week or more to get results with take-home kits.

What Does the Process Involve?

The process is simple and straightforward. We prop your mouth open and isolate the gingival tissue, gums and then paint on the bleach. We usually do one arch at a time. The treatment takes 40 minutes to an hour. Patients are generally very happy with the results. We also may recommend that you follow up your in-chair treatment with take-home trays.

Enjoy Take-Home Convenience

Want to brighten your smile from the comfort of home? Then consider Opalescence Go. This kit contains 10% hydrogen peroxide. You simply wear the pre-filled trays that hold the whitening gel. For optimal results, we recommend wearing each tray for 30 minutes a day for 7 days in a row.

What About Sensitivity?

If you experience tooth sensitivity, you may be reluctant to try teeth whitening. We may first recommend over-the-counter whitening strips as they contain a lower concentration of whitening component. If you do okay with them, we have some other products we can recommend.

It’s important to note, however, that many of the whitening brands put a lot of desensitizing components into the products. So we don’t see patients experiencing as much sensitivity as we used to see. We also adjust the time and the concentration to suit the patient’s individual needs. For example, for a patient with sensitivity, we could provide Opalescence with a 10-15% formula versus a 30% one.

Alternatives to Teeth Whitening

Whether you have a mosaic of resin bonding or different types of dental restorations, teeth whitening wouldn’t be appropriate for your needs. Instead, we would recommend crowns or veneers.
