Meet Our Uxbridge Family Dentist
Dr. David McDowell grew up in a dental-oriented family. Not only was his grandfather a dentist, but his mother was a dental assistant. Even his uncle sold equipment for a popular dental supply company.

An Emphasis on the Patient
If you ask what Dr. Dave enjoys most about being a dentist, it’s the relationships that he forms and the ability to better the smiles of his patients. “Communication and education”, he says, are the keys to good oral health.
Even with over three decades of experience, Dr. Dave continues to expand his knowledge of dentistry. He’s constantly learning, incorporating technology, studying and doing his best to see that his dental work stands up for as long as possible. It’s not uncommon for him to see some of his restorations last up to 25 years.
Continuing Professional Development
Dr. Dave is a member of the Toronto Crown and Bridge Study Club as well as a lifelong member of the Ontario Dental Association. Meeting several times during the year, the Study Club reviews the latest trends, strategies and resources available to dentists and their patients. He also actively studies modern dental implant therapy and restorative dentistry techniques.

Outside of the Office
An avid sports and hockey fan, Dr. Dave frequently works with local athletes to provide fitted athletic mouthguards to prevent dental injuries and concussions.
In his downtime, he enjoys spending time with his wife, son, two daughters, dog and three cats. If Dr. Dave is not with his family, then he’s usually picking up the guitar to play a few tunes or working in his garden.
